Toronto Maple Leafs Re-imagined as the Cast of Game of Thrones
The Toronto Maple Leafs chase of Lord Stanley’s Mug wasn’t a successful one but they battled hard.
The Toronto Maple Leafs quest is similar to the epic clashes and battle for the Iron Throne. They are a group of warriors, similar to those on HBO’s hit show, Game of Thrones.
This is the latest in the re-imagined Maple Leafs series.
To catch up on the rest, read about who the Toronto Maple Leafs would be if they characters from Super Mario Bros, if they were WWE wrestlers, if they were Disney Princesses, if they were the cast of Seinfeld, if they were dinosaurs or if they were hot peppers.
This is who the players would be if they too were in the show fighting for supremacy to take the throne in King’s Landing.
Toronto Maple Leafs Re-imagined as the Cast of Game of Thrones
Jon Snow
John Tavares would take on the role of Jon Snow and not just because they share the same first name.
With his leadership skills and calm demeanor under pressure, it makes Tavares the perfect fit for being the “King in the North“. That could even be a nickname that sticks for the captain. Tavares has shown that he is a natural-born leader, always stepping up to take charge and guide his team to victory.
He has a strong sense of right and wrong, and will not hesitate to do what is necessary to protect those he cares about. Whether it’s battling the White Walkers on the battlefield or fighting for wins on the ice, Tavares has the skills and determination to succeed.
Petyr Baelish
Timothy Liljegren would embody the cunning and deceitful Petyr Baelish, always one step ahead of the competition with his quick thinking and sharp moves.
Liljegren, like Baelish, has a knack for making his opponents look foolish. He has a mischievous streak that makes him the perfect fit for the Master of Coin, who is always looking for an advantage and is never above using deceit to get what he wants.
Whether he’s playing mind games with the enemy or setting up his teammates with a stretch pass, Liljegren always has a trick up his sleeve.
Daenerys Targaryen
William Nylander would bring his dragon sized passion for the game into the role of Daenerys Targaryen.
Nylander is a player who never gives up and always strives for greatness especially in the face of adversity. He has a fierce determination that makes him the perfect fit for Daenerys, who is on a mission to reclaim the Iron Throne and restore her family to its rightful place as rulers of the Seven Kingdoms.
Whether he’s leading his troops into battle or scoring the game-winning goal, Nylander truly is the Mother of Dragons.
Ser Jorah Mormont
TJ Brodie would play the honorable and stoic Ser Jorah Mormont, providing a steady presence on the Leafs’ defense and on the battlefield.
After working through an oblique injury, Brodie has been a knight who is there when his team needs him, providing a solid and reliable presence in his own end.
He has a quiet strength that makes him the perfect fit for Jorah, who is always willing to put himself in harm’s way to protect those he cares about. Brodie has the courage and determination to get the job done.
The Mountain
After incredible strides in his development since last season, Justin Holl would embody the strength of The Mountain.
His nearly impenetrable defense and intimidating presence makes him a force to be reckoned with on the ice. Holl is a player who never backs down from a challenge and always stands up for his team.
He even has physical traits that make him the perfect fit for The Mountain. Holl is one of the tallest players on the Toronto Maple Leafs, standing 6’4″ and weighing 210 lbs.
Maester Aemon
Ilya Samsonov would be the wise and measured Maester Aemon, always providing a level-headed approach in net to guide the Leafs to victory.
Samsonov manages to remain calm and composed, even in the face of the toughest shooters in the league. Aemon may be one of the oldest men in Westeros, but in his crease, the only number that matters to Samsonov is zero.
It’s the digit he strives for on a nightly basis while also offering advice to his teammates. Samsonov, like Aemon, uses his wisdom and skills to succeed.
Tywin Lannister
Finally, there’s the Toronto Maple Leafs new general manager, Brad Treliving. He would be the cunning Tywin Lannister, always one step ahead of the competition and never hesitating to make the tough decisions to find ways to win.
President Brendan Shanahan brought in Treliving because he always has a plan to out-maneuver opponents, much like Lannister.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are ready to rule the Seven Kingdoms. With the talent they’ve collected, they’re ready to even take on the white walkers.
