The Toronto Maple Leafs have had a fairly quiet offseason. They have focused on addressing the bottom six and retaining key players like Matthew Knies and John Tavares.
With the free-agent class being weak this offseason, Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving will have to turn to the trade market for further additions to the roster.
I went through each Atlantic Division team looking for potential options Treliving could target to address the holes on the roster. Before beginning the research, I identified the two biggest weaknesses of the team being a top-six forward as well as a puck-moving defenceman.
There wasn't a perfect fit from each team, but I tried to be as realistic as possible. Under each option, I will explain the rationale behind each pick, but keep in mind some of these teams just aren't fits for the Leafs to trade with.
