Toronto Maple Leafs New Head Coach Candidates
By James Tanner
Ryan Warsofsky
Warsofsky is currently an assistant for the San Jose Sharks. Just last year he was the youngest head coach in the AHL. He is going to be a front runner for an NHL job soon, and he’s just 35. I would take any coach like this, any day, over a recycled dud like Laviolette.
Travis Green
His biggest claim to fame is a passing resemblance to Mark Ruffalo, but the Toronto Maple Leafs should have no interest in giving Green another spin, as he did not impress as the Canucks coach.
Dallas Eakins
I don’t knnow about this guy. I was never a huge fan when coached the Marlies and he did not seem to distinguish himself with either the Oilers or the Ducks. However, I did think he sounded pretty smart on TV so I wouldn’t hate it if the Toronto Maple Leafs gave him another chance.
In conclusion, my choice for the next Toronto Maple Leafs coach would be Claude Julien or Mitch Love. After going through all these candidates, I actually don’t hate the idea of sticking with Sheldon Keefe as much as I did when I started writing it.
