Ottawa Senators – October 2nd

The final three were tough to choose from. But, the Ottawa Senators come in at number three.

Let’s start with the most important player that will play in this game, Connor Brown. He grew up a  Toronto Maple Leafs fan, and now he’s facing his ex-team wearing a Senators jersey. If anything, the big round of applause will be mostly for him.

Then there’s Ron Hainsey. He was a Leaf for two years, before going to Ottawa in free-agency. For him, it’ll likely be just another game, since he’s been on plenty of teams before.

I want to also talk about Nikita Zaitsev, but I don’t know what to say. His Leafs tenure was a little weird to say the least. Not many fans liked him on the 2nd pairing, they didn’t like his contract either. It’ll be interesting to see the welcome he gets in Toronto.

Tyler Ennis was here for what seemed like a couple years, but it was only one. I enjoyed it a lot, and it was good for him as well. He played well during his time in Toronto.

The four will definitely get a nice video tribute, and a standing ovation from the crowd (mostly for Brown).

It will also be the return of assistant coach turned head coach, DJ Smith. I’m not sure how much the fans liked him, but he was always a players coach. Every player he’s coached has loved him, and that’s what I’ve heard in Ottawa already too.

This will be one of the more expensive ticketed games because it’s the home-opener, and it’s the return of these four players. With Ottawa’s young talent, this could be an exciting game to watch.
