The Toronto Maple Leafs have been extremely fortunate in their injuries, if not exactly the picture of health.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have all their best players at full health to enter the season, and their only injuries were to expensive bit-players they likely shouldn't even have in the first place (Hakanpaa, Jarnkrok, Dewar).

Even when a key player did go down - Joseph Woll, who could have guessed? - it just led to Anthony Stolarz getting an opportunity and playing great.

John Tavares missed Saturdays game, but it was with an illness, not an injury (which, assuming we're talking about a minor illness, is much better).

Toronto Maple Leafs: Joseph Woll Back + William Nylander Out

The Toronto Maple Leafs recieved some good news on Tuesday when John Tavares was spotted in full equipment, suggesting he'll be back for tomorrow's game against the Los Angeles Kings. Tavares can't miss any time because, despite their hot start, Treliving had a rough summer and the Leafs only have two centres of consequence on their roster and Tavares is one of them.

Some more good news was had when Joseph Woll returned to the ice. I believe that he has to miss tomorrow's game but I'm not sure if he went on the IR before or after the Canadiens game. If it was after, he has to sit out but if it was before he should be good to go, although I doubt he starts.

The bad news was that while Tavares is back, he seems to have infected Nylander who was out. The coach said that there is a bug going through the room, so it's likely not serious.

If Nylander misses the game, it will be the first regular season game he's missed in years. He skated in 82 games for both of the last two years and 81 the year before that. Unfortunately, he did miss some games in last year's playoffs, which ultimately probably cost the Leafs a trip to the second round.

In other good news, Timothy Liljegren - who the Toronto Maple Leafs would be stupid to trade - is likely going to get into the game against the Kings. He's the Leafs only defenseman with any upside, and he's a right-handed puck-mover who should never, ever be healthy scratched. It's hilarious how bad the Leafs are hurting themselves by scratching one of their best defenseman just because of an ill-advised obsession with size.
