Alexander Plesovskikh - 5th Round, 152nd Overall
There is not much on Alexander Plesovskikh as he is currently playing in Russia and has bounced around playing for a pair of junior teams, while also playing in a pair of games in the Supreme Hockey League which would be the AHL comparable to the NHL in Eurasia.
In the Russian junior league has produced 29 points through 41 games. He has yet to sign his entry level contract.
Timofei Obvintsev - 5th Round, 157th Overall
With the draft pick the team acquired in the Sam Lafferty trade the previous October, the Maple Leafs selected Russian goaltender Timofei Obvintsev from the CSKA Red Army junior team. Obvintsev had been overlooked once previously in the draft as he was eligible to be selected in 2023.
The 6'3" goaltender has lost the starting position with his junior club to upcoming draft prospect Pyotr Andreyanov. The selection seemed a bit odd as has not had a lot of games over his career reaching 20+ contests just once which was back in 2021-22 when he dressed for 23 games with his U17 club. This season, Obvintsev has tended the net in 11 games and has a 2.78 GAA and .908 Save Percentage.
Obvintsev has yet to sign his entry level contract.
Matt Lahey - 7th Round, 200th Overall
When the Maple Leafs acquired Matt Murray in 2022 from the Ottawa Senators, they also acquired a pair of draft picks including a 2024 seventh round selection, which the the club used to draft British Columbia native Matt Lahey.
The 6'5" left handed shooting defenseman had played two full seasons in the British Columbia Junior "A" league before switching over to play for Fargo in the USHL this past season. Over 40 games this season, Lahey has a pair of goals and 11-points.
A week before Christmas, Lahey announced he had committed to Michigan State for the 2025-26 season to pursue his NCAA career and as such has not yet signed an entry level contract.
