The Toronto Maple Leafs are my favorite team, but I live a long way from downtown (well if I walked) and you know, money doesn't grow on trees.
That means I don't attend too many Maple Leafs games. The cost is absurd, and this CD collection isn't going to build itself.
But I'd like to. If I was a rich man, I'd go to every game.
The last game I went to was a wonderful experience. I took my son to his first game, splurged on Golds, and we watched Mitch Marner score in overtime, which was amazing. But it cost us damn near a $1000 bucks once we bought tickets, dinner, gas, parking, subway, souvenirs, in-game refreshments and one nearly $20 beer.
But we don't get to go much, so Santa, hook a brother up.
This Christmas, Give Me Maple Leafs Tickets (and Free Beer and a Jersey )
But Santa, if you're reading this, you can't just get me tickets. I don't wanna sound spoiled, but if you just get me tickets, I'm going to have the fund the rest of this enterprise myself.
I don't like to drive, so I'm going to need a limo to and from the game. We're going to need 2 x Auston Matthews jerseys (one adult, one teen) and unlimited free beer (for one). It wouldn't hurt if you throw in some vouchers for food, or even a few loose chicken wings in a bag.
I tried to buy these myself, but some joker wanted $400 each to watch the Leafs play the Canucks in the 300 section. Are you kidding me? I just don't need to see Pontus Holmberg in person that badly.
To be honest, getting Leafs tickets has always been almost impossible. The cost and availability makes it difficult. (and btw, getting a screen shot or a photo copy of your ticket sucks, please bring back real ticket you cheap scoundrels).
Though it's hard to go to games, I've been to quite a lot in my lifetime and feel pretty lucky about it. We used to get free tickets sometimes from my dad's job, so even though we only got to see teams like Florida, Dallas and Arizona, and usually only on Wednesdays, it was still amazing. Certainly we didn't care that the boss kept all the best tickets for the important people.
Once I did see Owen Nolan's debut game, and another time I did get to see Leafs vs Habs on a Saturday night (though both teams were already eliminated from the playoffs at the time), so I'm not complaining.
I've been to more Leafs games than most people. I'm just saying, Santa, if you can, you could really save me some money that I could use to buy original pressing Smith's LPs. Thanks in advance, and don't forget the beer.
