Max Domi

Max Domi has had a rough year so far. He is fresh off signing his four-year deal with the club where he makes 3.75 million dollars against the cap and has not looked like the Max Domi we saw last season.

Through 47 games, Domi has posted three goals and 17 assists for a total of 20 points.

Domi has been playing up the middle of the ice this year in the third-line centre role. I don't think that is where the Leafs will get the most out of him, but with the lack of depth they have in the position, they need him there.

If they want the best out of Domi, they need to play him on the top line as a right-winger. We saw him at his most effective there last year and his play just before the break in that role looked better.

For a team that struggles with scoring depth, they could use Domi playing at his best. With a trade for another centre and the movement of him to the top line, playing Domi with Matthews and Knies could be exactly what he needs.

Hopefully, this break for Domi can help him get a reset mentally. Something has been missing from his game. He was always pretty bad defensively, but at times he has blended into the games this season. When Domi is playing at his best, he uses his speed well, and we see him go to the tough areas on the ice.

A productive Domi will make this forward core much more dangerous.
