Team Canada lost a coinflip and was the better team.

As the much deserved boos rained down as the American National Anthem was sung, it was impossible not to feel an incredible wave of national pride wash over you.

Then, watching two absolute patriots live out every Canadian's fantasy by throwing a couple beatdowns on a couple of fake tough-guys who happen to be the most hated guys in the entire league (and also JT Miller), it felt like the rest of us had reclaimed out country from the clowns who've been waiving flags and honking horns for the last five years.

It was a glorious moment, and as Colten Parayko was beating the bejsus out of JT Miller, I believe I achieved true enlightenment.

And yeah, ultimiately Jordan Binnington let in a couple of weak goals and the boys lost, but not for lack of trying. Team Canada played an absolutely awesome game, and it sucks they lost, but let's keep in mind that it was a coin-flip game that could have gone either way.

Some Thoughts on Team Canada

Jordan Binnington - he's fine. I would stick with him. Both goals were weak, but he also made saves that were great. I have no problem with his performance - it was a 2-1 loss for a team with Connor McDavid, Sam Reinhart, Sidney Crosby, Mitch Marner and Nathan MacKinnon on it, so it seems lame to blame the goalie.

And speaking of lame, I would really love it if, when asked, one of Team Canada's players came out and defended the booing. We don't appreciate Elon's Vice President calling our leader "the Govenor of Canada" and even mentioning the annexation of our country is disgusting, disrepsectful and insane.

And until we get an apology, we're booing. Yes booing an anthem is disrespectful, but that's the point - we don't respect you. Not when you are threatening and betraying us.

I know Sid has to go back and work there, but I'd still like to see him speak for us when he's got a microphone in his face. Not one person I know or have talked to feels differently - booing is a good thing right now. We just don't have that many ways to show our displeasure.

As to the actual game - it was a great showing. Hockey is a coin-flip in one-goal games, and Canada had more scoring chances and more dangerous scoring chancds, so I think we should be happy with their game.

I think Brandon Hagel should get an automatic induction into the Hall of Fame. I thought Tomas Hickey had a beautiful game. I cant wait to win the Gold. This game was just a warm up - Thursday night is going to be nuts.

And if fans in Boston have any class, and obviously that is the main thing Boston fans are known for, they'll boo their own anthem out of solidarity.
