The Toronto Maple Leafs are a vastly perplexing team who have failed to establish an identity since they let Kyle Dubas abscond to Pittsburgh.

Why didn't the Toronto Maple Leafs spend any of their vast resources to find the best replacement for Kyle Dubas? Why did they spend so little time and effort on a GM search, and why did they settle for the guy whose Calagry Flames are one of the biggest messes in the NHL?

They had a revolt for Pete's sake!

These are the kinds of questions that keep me up at night.

Another one is:

How Is Noah Gregor Still in the NHL?

Sure, he's fast, but he isn't any good. The Leafs fourth line is crap, garbage, a joke, terrible. It sucks.

It was easy to ignore Noah Gregor when Ryan Reaves was playing every day. Everyone looks good next to the NHL's worst player, but how can anyone look at Gregor's stats and think he has been effective?

Gregor has a 45% Corsi-Rating, The Leafs get 45% of the shots when he's on the ice, and have been outscored 19-8 (>30%). His expected goals rating is a pathetic 37%, and yet he has somehow gotten into 40 games. He has only missed one game.

It is non-sensical.

Here is another question: if Treliving is good enough to be the Leafs GM, why can't he admit he made a mistake and move on?

It is embarassing that David Kampf is in the lineup most nights. It's horrifying that Ryan Reaves might come back.

The Max Domi signing was not wise.

Tyler Bertuzzi, despite skating with a superstar for practically ever second of the year isn't even averaging a half-point per game. He has six goals.

Why are people takling about extending him? Are they mad? Why isn't the GM fixing his mistakes?

How are people not more concerned with this team? They have roughly the same amount of regulation wins as Ottawa. They blow leads like crazy, and in order to have the record they do, they need Martin Jones to play like a Vezina winner, Joseph Woll to steal eight points, and to have 2 x MVP candidates on their team. (stats naturalstattrick.com).

Why did they start Ilya Samsonov yesterday? Why did the coach put his fourth line on the ice with 2 minutes left in a tied must-win game?

Why do the Leafs absolutely refuse to try to develop prospects at the NHL level?

Why did they think they could come into a season of Auston Matthew's prime with the blue-line they have? Why doesn't the media ask Treliving questinos like this?

And why is TJ Brodie still getting top pairing minutes?
