No. 3: David Savard

Back to the traditional old-school style of defensemen. David Savard won't help much offensively, but can play with an edge and be someone who helps solidify the team's defense.

At this point, he's just a depth player, but he's a good one. The Leafs are playing Myers, Benoit and Timmins fairly regularly, and Savard would be a massive upgrade on all of them.

The Montreal Canadiens are fighting for a playoff spot, so I'm unsure if the team will want to trade him yet, but he'd be high on team's wish lists. Savard would fall in the similar category as Chris Tanev and would likely be a top-four defenseman with the Leafs.

He'd be someone who can block shots, play on the second penalty-kill unit and is a veteran who won't make too many mistakes.

He's been a legitimate NHL defenseman for a long time, and wouldn't be someone who is scared playing in Toronto, having spent the last few years in Montreal. He feels like the type of player that Brad Treliving would love to trade for and that Craig Berube would love to coach, and as such, I think the Leafs will make a push for him.

Toronto and Montreal aren't known to make too many trades, so that may stop him from playing with the blue-and-white, but I think Savard would be a great fit.
