The Toronto Maple Leafs have now lost four games in a row.

The Toronto Maple Leafs, after 11 games, have the same record as the Montreal Canadiens.

You could say it’s just a small sample size and that talent will win out, and that might be true, but to date, the Leafs have a lower team expected-goals percentage than Montreal.

That means that, given equal goaltending and luck, the Habs – who are expected to draft first overall next summer – have played better.

It means that the Leafs suck.

And if you didn’t already know that, you must not have watched any hockey this week.

Toronto Maple Leafs Lose in a Lame, Weak, Disgusting, Failure of a Game

The vaunted Team Meeting didn’t do anything, and the weak and lame Leafs did not recover from their embarrassment at the hands of Brad Marchand at all last night. (stats naturalstattrick.com).

The effort was garbage.

The coaching atrocious.  Can anyone explain why Ryan Reaves was on the ice after the Leafs tied the game?

Of course you can’t, and it’s best not even to try – you’ll just get a headache.

Buffalo possessed the puck for 55% of the game.

They had almost 70% of the shots. 64% of the scoring chances, and when it came to dangerous chances, they dominated as well: 13-7, which is 65% and almost doubling the Leafs.

The Toronto Maple Leafs were horrible against LA.

Somehow, they were nearly worse against Boston.

You would have at least expected a better effort last night, but they got dusted.

If not for Auston Matthews, this game would have been a bloodbath.

Max Domi was so bad he made me want to puke.

John Klingberg should never play another NHL game.

This team’s performance was lame, and it was embarrassing to be a fan.

Brad Treliving makes me long for the managerial acumen of John Ferguson JR.

At this point, Brendan Shanahan makes me respect Mark Shapiro.

Last night the Leafs were outplayed, they were out coached and they were passed by a team that has rebuilt twice in the time it took them to win a single playoff series.

At least Edmonton and Pittsburgh can look at the stats and say they should be getting better results. The Leafs can’t do that, because their results have been lucky.

They stink.

This team is garbage.

They don’t have the money, assets or management to make it better.

This season is a write-off.

So weird that firing the best young manager in the NHL didn’t work out.  You let him learn on the job, might as well can him and let him put those lessons to use elsewhere.   I can’t believe that strategy was bad.

Whoda thought?
