The Toronto Maple Leafs are lucky to have one of the NHL’s best right-wingers on their team. Mitch Marner has finished in the league’s top 20-point producers since the 2018-19 season. He has made the top ten twice.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are entering their eighth season with Marner on their roster.

Marner has registered 90 points or more on three occasions during his first seven seasons.

He will be looking to reach 100 points this season for the first time in his career. Marner missed out on 100 points last season by one point. (Stats from hockey-reference.com).

Toronto Maple Leafs Star Mitch Marner on Quest for 100 Points

Marner is an assist wizard, and it helps that he spends most of his time playing with Auston Matthews. The two of them are quite the dynamic duo.

They are by far one of the best duos in the NHL. Obviously, team success is more important than personal success, but after reaching 99 points last season, everyone should expect Marner to be on the hunt for 100 points.

To start the 2023-24 NHL regular season, Marner and Matthews will likely have Tyler Bertuzzi on their line.

Bertuzzi is good at battling for loose pucks along the boards and scoring in tight to the goaltender. Hopefully, it won’t take too long for the three linemates to find chemistry.

Their line has the potential to be one of the best in the NHL.

Between playing on the first line, the power-play, and the penalty kill, Marner has been averaging more than 20 minutes a game for four seasons.

That trend will continue this season, so expect his quest for 100 points to be achievable. As with any professional athlete, Marner needs to stay healthy, and the rest will take care of itself.

I have a feeling that this season is the season where he finally reaches 100 points. Linemate Auston Matthews seems to be entering the season at 100%, so that will only help Marner’s cause.

The duo of Matthews and Marner playing healthy at 100% is bad news for the other teams in the NHL. Hopefully, everything clicks, and they start racking up the points early in the season.

The first game of the season for the Toronto Maple Leafs will be on October 11th against the Montreal Canadiens.

I couldn’t think of a more perfect opportunity to start the season than with a win against your number-one rival. We’ll find out if it will also be a good start to Marner’s quest for his first 100-point season.
