The Toronto Maple Leafs AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies, finished first in the AHL’s North Division last season but failed to beat the Rochester Americans in the third round of the Calder Cup playoffs. They will be looking to improve upon last season and hopefully win the Calder Cup this season.

Toronto Maple Leafs assistant general manager Ryan Hardy who is the general manager of the Marlies fired his coaching staff.

John Gruden is the AHL team’s new head coach. Michael Dyck and Eric Wellwood are the new assistant coaches. We’ll see if they can help guide this team to a championship.
