The Toronto Maple Leafs may be on holidays, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun.

There may not be a person on the planet who doesn’t enjoy a good celebrity look-a-like. There’s something fun about finding doppelgangers. That’s why you’re here after-all. Connecting celebrities to the Toronto Maple Leafs does have its challenges.

When the game is in action, it can be difficult to catch a good look at the players’ faces. Their helmets and visors obstruct the fans view. Luckily, we’re here to help make the important connection to which celebrities bear resemblance to members of the Maple Leafs.

Some of these doppelgangers can be considered complimentary to the Leafs. Others, not so much. We’ll begin with the latter.

Auston Matthews

Auston Matthews is someone who takes great care in his appearance. He has become well known for his fashion sense. As such, there’s a very good chance that he isn’t fond to be frequently compared to the one “celebrity” he somewhat resembles, which we will also ignore due to this being a family site.

Matthews’ mustache is already one of the best in Maple Leafs history but it does help with the comparisons, so If Matthews is overly bothered by it,  then a quick shave should help put an end to it.

There is also another Matthews doppelganger out there.

Discovered by @brenanmerrick on twitter, Matthews looks eerily similar to the stein gripping fellow on the label of Maxl Helles beer. Brewed by Schlossbraurei Maxlrain in Tuntenhausen, Germany, it appears as though they used the Maple Leafs center as their muse when designing the label.

Mitch Marner

Mitch Marner was asked by TSN’s Jesse Pollock who he thought his celebrity look-a-like might be. While Marner acknowledged that he and Pollock shared some similarities, the winger mentioned Canadian singer Shawn Mendes.

It happens that Mendes isn’t just Marner’s doppelganger, but he’s also one of the Maple Leafs celebrity fans. The two have previously met, though it wasn’t reported whether anyone nearby confused the pair for one another.

William Nylander

If Marner is happy to be compared to Mendes, William Nylander should be ecstatic with his celebrity doppelganger. He looks a lot like climate activist and one of the most famous actors on the planet, Leonardo DiCaprio.

It’s been observed that not only do Nylander and DiCaprio currently have similar facial features, but they also were twinning when they were younger. Sharing the same facial hair has helped the duo currently look alike, but it was a freshly drafted 18-year-old Nylander who looked extremely like DiCaprio when he was young.

White Lotus

Interestingly, there are a pair of actors from HBO’s hit show, White Lotus, that look like current Toronto Maple Leafs. Paolo Camilli, who played a small supporting role as Hugo, may be mistaken for veteran defenseman Mark Giordano.

While Camilli may not be very well known, one of his co-stars in the show has a longer resume, Bruno Gouery. Before playing the role of Didier in White Lotus, Gouery rose to fame in the role of Luc in Emily in Paris. He looks like the Leafs goaltender, Matt Murray. For those about to search the internet to look at Gouery, make sure to look past his hair to see just how much he looks like Toronto’s keeper.
