The Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Philadelphia Flyers 4-3 on Thursday. They will return on December 27th against the St. Louis Blues as they are now on Christmas break.

For the Toronto Maple Leafs players and staff, the Christmas break will be time for family and friends. A nice break in the schedule to recharge the battery. It is also time to rest and prepare for the second half of the season.

Toronto will enter the Christmas break with an excellent record, perhaps as high as second overall. They are 6-2-1 for December following their victory over the Flyers last night. Hopefully, after the Christmas break, fans will get a chance to see Toronto’s newest member Dryden Hunt get some game action before the New Year.

For this article, I thought it would be fun to imagine what some of the Toronto Maple Leafs players would want for Christmas. What is the number one item on their list for Santa?

Toronto Maple Leafs Christmas Gifts

John Tavares

The number one item on John Tavares‘ Christmas list is noise-canceling headphones. With two little ones running around and screaming, he can use the headphones to tune them out. The only way he’ll get the rest he needs for the second half of the season.

Michael Bunting

Michael Bunting is asking Santa for a pinball machine and a case of Red Bull. He wants to keep his game-day energy levels up during the break. If there is one player on the Toronto Maple Leafs that hates to relax and keep still, it’s Bunting.

Mitch Marner

This year, Mitch Marner is asking Santa for a box of fedoras. He wants to own one in every colour. It will help him to keep looking fresh on game days. He has also asked Santa for an elf costume for his dog.

William Nylander

William Nylander has asked Santa to have the elves make him a pair of Swedish blue and yellow Ray-Bans sunglasses. He also made a special request for his brother Alex Nylander to receive coal this Christmas.

Matt Murray

Matt Murray is not asking for much this Christmas. All he wants is to stay healthy and help the Toronto Maple Leafs go on a deep playoff run. He did however ask Santa for a package of novelty Ottawa Senators toilet paper.

Mark Giordano

Mark Giordano is a shot-blocking machine for Toronto, so this Christmas, he is asking for the largest bag of Epsom salts and the biggest bottle of Aspirin that Santa can get. Those and plenty of rest will help Giordano prepare for the second half of the season.

Auston Matthews

Auston Matthews is hoping that Santa will bring him a whole line of limited-edition Drew wear from his buddy Justin Beiber. He also asked for 34 pairs of neon tropical shorts with matching collars for his dog.

Rasmus Sandin

Rasmus Sandin is asking for Santa to bring him and Timothy Liljegren matching ugly Christmas sweaters with each other’s faces on them. Just for fun, he has asked that Liljegren’s sweater be one size too small.

Pierre Engvall

Pierre Engvall wants a nature documentary about Giraffes for Christmas this year. He would also like a yellow sweater with brown splotches to wear while he watches the documentary.

I hope you all enjoyed this article as much as I did making it. Sometimes we get caught up in the busyness of the Christmas season and forget to find time to relax and laugh. I hope some of these made you laugh, and I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
