Toronto Maple Leafs Are The Greatest Team of All-Time
Well, the Toronto Maple Leafs did exactly the opposite of what I predicted and crushed the Anaheim Ducks, proving they’re the greatest team of all-time.
It’s starting to feel that this could be the Toronto Maple Leafs year. I know it’s only December, but my god, they are destroying teams and playing at an elite level right now.
When I wrote my piece predicting that the Leafs would lose to the Ducks again, I was coming from a long-term Toronto fan perspective. In previous years, the team would always find a way to lose that game.
On a Tuesday night, the arena would be quiet and it would typically be a low-scoring defeat.
However, this team is built different.
Toronto never wins 7-0, especially when they’re supposed to. With Anaheim on a back-to-back and being one of the worst teams in the league, the Leafs should win by that margin every night, but I didn’t see it coming.
Also, in a 7-0 game, how does Auston Matthews and William Nylander not score? I thought that was the biggest lock of all-time, but maybe I’m just the worst gambler in the world and should retire.
Regardless, the Leafs are an absolute wagon.
Will the Toronto Maple Leafs Ever Lose in Regulation Again?
This is one of the biggest heaters the Leafs have ever been on, from what I remember. They haven’t lost in regulation in over a month and are second in the NHL in points.
They have a real chance at winning the President’s Trophy, which is something they almost never had a chance at before. It really doesn’t matter if they win that award as team’s who do, don’t typically win the Stanley Cup, but it would be an amazing accomplishment.
I know the Leafs are going to have to lose eventually, but at the rate they’re playing, I can’t see them losing until the New Year. Even with games against the New York Rangers, Washington Capitals and Tampa Bay Lightning coming up, this team is so hot that it feels like they’re unstoppable.
I hate getting excited about this team, because it always feel like you’re going to get your heart broken, but what’s that old saying: “It’s better to have loved and lost, then to love at all?”
Well, as Michael Scott famously said, “I’m ready to get hurt again.” I’m so excited about this roster and love that it can only get better by the NHL Trade Deadline.
The Leafs are the greatest team on earth and the next few months are going to be some that we’ll never forget.
