The Toronto Maple Leafs have a solid group of prospects, considering that they haven’t drafted high in the draft since 2016.

Some Toronto Maple Leafs prospects are off to a great start in their 2022-23 season. This article will give fans a glimpse into the successful start to the 2022-23 season for four of Toronto’s prospects.

Three of the prospects I will mention are playing for the Toronto Marlies in the AHL, while the fourth is playing for the Sarnia Sting in the OHL. It is good to see all four players finding early success this season. The future is bright for all of them.

They might not all be ready for the NHL yet, but their time is coming. Fans could see at least two of these prospects playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs at some point this season.

Toronto Maple Leafs Prospects Report

Logan Shaw

Logan Shaw got awarded AHL player of the week last week.

The reason for the honor was his five goals and four assists for nine points in three games. Shaw’s recent success has propelled him to the top of the Toronto Marlies scoring lead.

He has registered six goals and eight assists for 14 points in 10 games. The 6’4 forward is looking to improve upon the 35 points he recorded last season for the Belleville Senators. (All stats from eliteprospects.com)

Joey Anderson

Joey Anderson has been a work in progress for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Many believe he has what it takes to be in the NHL after recording 26 goals and 16 assists for 42 points last season in 56 games.

Although he might be NHL-ready, a little more seasoning in the AHL will not hurt. So far this season, Anderson has registered seven goals and six assists for 13 points in ten games.

Alex Steeves

Alex Steeves is another player that could be NHL-ready very soon.

The 22-year-old registered 23 goals and 23 assists for 46 points in 58 games last season with the Marlies. He is looking to improve upon those numbers and currently has five goals and eight assists for 13 points in 10 games.

Ty Voit

Ty Voit is a fifth-round draft pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs, chosen 153rd overall in the 2021 NHL draft.

An incredible 2021-22 season with the Sarnia Sting saw Voit register 26 goals and 54 assists for 80 points in 67 games.
