The Toronto Maple Leafs continue to show us that they’re frauds after another disappointing loss to one of the worst teams in the NHL.

Are the Toronto Maple Leafs just messing with us right now? Do they think it’s a fun joke to continue to lose games they should win and make us stay up until 1:00AM EST on a school night?

The west coast trip used to be one of the hardest stretches in hockey. Anaheim, LA and San Jose were such powerhouse teams who would beat you down physically, but also score at will. You’d be lucky to steal two points in that three-game stretch, but those times have changed.

They possess barely any toughness and their offensive fire-power doesn’t match what the Leafs bring.

On Monday night, the Leafs lost a tough battle to the Vegas Golden Knights. They should have won that game, especially knowing they had three days off after, but they ran into a hot goalie and lost to a team that should be a Stanley Cup contender.

It was a crappy loss, but it is what it is.

However, Thursday night’s loss wasn’t just crappy, it was flat-out embarrassing.

Toronto Maple Leafs Are Frauds

With the win last night, San Jose is now 3-7-0 on the season with six points in 10 games played, which is the fourth worst in the NHL. They’ve played two-to-four games more than most every other teams too because they started the season in Europe, so realistically they should be worse than fourth.

The Arizona Coyotes are third worst in the league, who Toronto lost to one week ago, so that means that the Leafs have now lost to the third and fourth worst teams already.

The team who’s currently worst in the NHL is the Anaheim Ducks, who the Leafs play on Sunday night, so if they lose to them too, you may as well just shut down the season and start the rebuild.

If you think the Leafs deserve some credit for getting the game to overtime and securing a point, you’re delusional. The Sharks outshot the Leafs 31-25 and out-hit them 25-11, dominating them in many aspects of the game.

Even with Erik Kallgren in net, the Leafs should have won this game. They had two full days of rest and should have been prepared, especially after a loss on Monday night.

Would they have won this game if Ilya Samsonov was in net? Maybe, but it shouldn’t matter who’s in net for this team when they’re going against one of the worst teams in the NHL. It’s not like Kallgren was pulled five minutes in. He gave them a chance, only allowing three goals in regulation.

The top-line delivered but it was probably the second-line’s worst game of the year as John Tavares, William Nylander and Nick Robertson were nowhere to be found.

I know it’s just a regular season game, but good teams win these games and the Toronto Maple Leafs may just be frauds. If they don’t win both games against the LA Kings and Anaheim Ducks this weekend, I’m ready to throw in the towel.

Next. Leafs Switch Up First Line. dark

Long story short, the Toronto Maple Leafs are an embarrassing bunch of losers.
