Is there anything worse than being a  Toronto Maple Leafs fan?

Once again, the Toronto Maple Leafs are playing a Game 7 in the First Round, however this year it’s different.

This year, they actually get to play the game at home in front of a sold-out building for the first time since 2004. When the Leafs had home-ice advantage last year, the arena was empty, except for 500 lucky fans, but this season, it’ll be rocking on Saturday night.

The craziest thing about Game 6 was the fact that Toronto played an amazing game. John Tavares was buzzing, Auston Matthews scored on the road and Jack Campbell was solid. However, like they do every single season, they choked it away in the third period and eventually lost in overtime.

Being a Leafs fan is the most frustrating thing in the world.

They played great and it still wasn’t enough. The Tampa Bay Lightning proved why they’re the two-time defending Stanley Cup champions and made me hate this team more than anyone can possibly hate something.

For whatever reason, we continue to stay with this team through thick-and-thin, despite the fact that they continuously punch us in the face every time we think something good is going to happen.

Toronto Maple Leafs Will Probably Lose Game 7 at Home

I hope I’m wrong, but at this point, how am I to expect any other result? How am I realistically suppose to think that the Toronto Maple Leafs are going to win a Game 7.

They had a 3-2 lead in the third period of Game 6 and they couldn’t get that done. They had an opportunity to exorcise their demons in the biggest moment of their lives and they punted it away.

I want to root for this team so bad and I want them to succeed more than anything in the world, but how am I supposed to have faith that it’s going to happen? Why am I, like the millions of other Leafs fans, investing so much stupid time into this team thinking that the outcome is going to change?

If they win on Saturday night, I’ll happily eat my words, but this pathetic franchise is making it very hard to be a fan anymore.

Every year it’s the same result.

Even though they’ve been out-playing the Tampa Bay Lightning for most of this series, it still hasn’t been enough to get four wins. This team is cursed and there’s no other way around it.

Next. Stars Shine in Game 5. dark

It’s been 18 years since the Toronto Maple Leafs won a playoff series. Please find an extra gear and do something, because if they lose again, I don’t know if I can take it anymore.
