Toronto Maple Leafs Week in Review

Coming off an incredible beat-down of the Colorado Avalanche, the Toronto Maple Leafs had won their fifth in a row for the third time this year.

In fact, they had won 15 out of 17 games coming into last Saturday’s game against the Wild. The Leafs made a great comeback and got some bad luck in a shoot-out, but this game can hardly be considered a failure.   With just a little luck they would have deservedly had their sixth win in a row. row.

Sunday’s game against the rested Jets was a back-to-back against a rested opponent with international travel. It’s the kind of game the NHL should be embarrassed about scheduling. The refs let it get out of hand, and the Leafs still almost made a nice comeback.

Another loss, but not a concerning one.

The Leafs easily disposed of the Blue Jackets, but lost to Tampa even though they also deserved a better result in this game.

The fact that the team can lose three of four and we are in no way concerned is the strongest signal yet that this team is for real.
