The Toronto Maple Leafs are set to kick off the 2021 season against the Montreal Canadiens on the 13th of January.

It will be the first of ten games the Toronto Maple Leafs play against the Canadiens, on what will eventually be at least a 9-1 record.  Just kidding.  Kind of.

While the Canadiens think they have improved this off-season, I don’t think they have done anything significant, and because they have too much invested in goalies, not to mentioned washed up vets like Corey Perry, the Habs will falter.  For what it’s worth, I don’t think Perry could make the Leafs even if rosters were expanded and they wanted to dress six lines.

That is just one of many predictions I have for the 2021 season.

Here are some others:

2021 NHL Predictions

  • Auston Matthews wins the Art Ross Trophy, becoming the first member of the Toronto Maple Leafs to lead the NHL in points since Gord Drillon back in1764.
  • Additionally, Matthews will lead the NHL In 5v5 goals, power-play goals, total goals, goals that make your jaw drap, and I also predict he will lead the league in achieving personal goals that he sets for himself, though there is no way to confirm this one.
  • I think it goes without saying that I think Matthews will win the Hart Trophy (I’ve already made this predictions) as the NHL’s MVP and prove me right about that time I said he was better than Nathan MackInnon.
  • I predict that William Nylander is such a powerful force that he becomes accepted by the entire fanbase and that an entire week will go by without a made-up trade rumour about him.
  • I predict that the Leafs will win the President’s Trophy, buoyed by destroying a lousy division, and that they will then go all the way to the Stanley Cup Final where they will lose in the most improbable of fashions to the Buffalo Sabres, who will be the surprise team of the NHL.
  • The Flyers will miss the playoffs.
  • The Islanders, as I’ve previously mentioned, will challenge the Senators for the worst team in the league title, but only the fact that they don’t have to repeatedly face the Maple Leafs will prevent them from coming in 31st. .
  • The third pairing of Rasmus Sandin and Mikko Lehtenon will end up being so good that the Leafs will essentially have three top pairings, which is partly why Buffalo’s eventual Cup upset will be so shocking.  I hope that you have enjoyed these very serious and accurate predictions which will definitely come true.
