- Curtis Joseph, one of the Leafs best goalies was undrafted into the NHL.
- David Ayres, a Toronto Marlies Zamboni driver was an emergency replacement for a game in Toronto. He played for parts of two periods but not for the Maple Leafs. Instead, he helped the Carolina Hurricanes embarrass the Buds
- The Leafs were also embarrassed when their goaltender Vesa Toskala let in one of the longest goals in NHL history. The puck traveled 197 feet before bouncing five times to beat Toskala.
- Jacques Plante owns the Maple Leafs best save percentage at 0.925. He had three years in Toronto.
