The Toronto Maple Leafs may be finished for the season, but there is still a lot going on.

If you’ve been watching the Raptors glorious run to a championship, perhaps you’ve missed all the recent Toronto Maple Leafs action.

There have been rumours about Nazem Kadri, Patrick Marleau, Nikita Zaitsev and of course Mitch Marner.

Considering the Leafs have been out of the playoffs for over a month now, it’s been surprisingly busy in Leafs land where the salary cap has super-charged the rumour-mill.

But rumours aside, there’s still a lot of things coming up, so we at Editor in Leaf have conveniently put all the dates here for you to access easily so that you don’t miss anything.

Toronto Maple Leafs Upcoming Important Dates

The Stanley Cup may or may not have been awarded last night. The deadline for this article was ahead of the game, so while you no-doubt know the outcome, it is a mystery to me.

Should the Blues have prevailed, then Tyler Bozak, Alex Steen, and Carl Gunnarsson are all now Stanley Cup Champs.

If the Bruins won, then game seven is the first of the dates on our calendar.

Game seven will take place on Wednesday.  Let’s go Blues!

Unfortunately, I have been eliminated from my hockey pool.  I held on to second place until after game five, and third place don’t pay!  My team was split evenly between the Leafs and Sharks, so……Kadri has screwed me again!  I think that guy should mail me $500.

Anyways, next up on the old NHL calendar is the Awards Show.  This annual crap fest is usually the low-point of the NHL season.  The awards generally go to the wrong player about 85% of the time, while the NHL books acts whose relevance is ten years in the past, minimum.

Recently the NHL disgraced themselves by having Chaka Khan and Def Leppard make appearances (like, recently, not in the 80s when that would have been acceptable).

This year the show will be hosted by Keenan Thompson of SNL – good choice – but I couldn’t even find information on what bands will be there, so odds are that’s a bad sign.

The awards will be handed out June 19th. I’d like to say I’m boycotting it because there are no Toronto Maple Leafs nominated (and Rielly and Andersen definitely should have been) but a) I think most boycotts are pretty dumb and b) I’ve never watched the awards show anyways.

Next up is the NHL Draft.  The Toronto Maple Leafs  are without a first-round pick, but they now have Jake Muzzin instead, so no big deal.  The Draft will be held Friday June 21st and Saturday June 22nd.

After that, of course, is July 1st AKA Free Agent Day.  Then we all hibernate until September.
