The Toronto Maple Leafs least favourite soap opera, the William Nylander show, will come to an end soon.

Reportedly, the Toronto Maple Leafs are comfortable with letting Nylander watch this season from the couch in Sweden. They will, however, not let it come to this.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are better with Nylander dressed up to play and Nylander is better off playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

It may be true, however, the reported muscle talk from Dubas is nothing more than just that; muscle talk. No one benefits from it. It’s by far the worst case scenario. Trusting that both parties still have somewhat of a common ground to work from, they will at least find a solution that is slightly more beneficial for both parties.

Standoff

The Mexican standoff between Kyle Dubas and William Nylander is slowly moving towards it’s “epic conclusion”. Spoiler alert, I think the outcome has been negotiated weeks if not months ago.

Both parties will come to their senses and will go for the 1-year bridge deal.

Why the 1-year bridge deal? Doesn’t it only postpone the inevitable for 8 months?

Yes, it does and it is absolutely perfect. In my previous article, I wrote about the influence of Mitch Marner and how he could be the key to resolving this standoff. If Dubas could get the 3 young guns in a room, they could punch it out in one afternoon regarding salary.

With Nylander signed on a 1-year deal, that could happen next summer.

Dubas need only put them in a room, present them with the pie they need to share and let them figure out how they will share that equally. If they really want to be part of what might go down as the greatest Toronto Maple Leafs core in history, they’ll figure it out.

The 1-year deal has probably been written up a while ago, the backup plan should Dubas be unable to bring his first negotiation to a fruitful end. Should that remain the case, they will sign him to a one-year deal worth about 4 million.

William Nylander Can Become One of the Best Players in Leafs History.

There you have it, the solution is here! William Nylander can stay a Leaf.

William Nylander, Mitch Marner, Auston Matthews, they will all go down in history as three of the greatest players ever to dress up in the gallant blue and white. The only thing that could stand in the way is whether the Leafs Nation can embrace Nylander again? I’ll leave the answer to that question to you.

Thanks for reading all, I appreciate it.
