Best Toronto Maple Leafs Tweets of the Week
By James Tanner
The Toronto Maple Leafs had a light week.
After losing to the Vancouver Canucks last Saturday, the Toronto Maple Leafs only played one game in the week between that game and tonight’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
That game was a terrible performance by the team, but a MVP performance for the goaltender, Fred Andersen. Andersen made 47 saves – only allowing a goal on a perfect screen – to secure the victory for the Leafs.
Despite the lack of action (and Lou Lamoriello knows he’s allowed to make roster moves, right?) Leafs Twitter never lets you down. Sit back and enjoy the best of the best from a week of talking trash (and sometimes making salient points) on the internet.
Tweeeeeeeeeets of the Weeeeeeeeeek
This guy is one of the most entertaining presences on Leafs Twitter and here he tries out his best Stephen King impression. I haven’t been this scared since I read the Stand that week I was home sick from school with the flu.
Hopefully Babcock gives Nylander his own line, or at least puts him back with Matthews. Whenever I see him on the fourth line, I think about the vitriol I received the first time I suggested he should play at centre instead of with Matthews.

What makes this such a good joke is that it’s at once ridiculous (it’s like a week out of a three year contract), plausible (kids these days) and it highlights the hypocrisy of fans who think Babock but would ad hominem to death any analyst who suggested such a thing.
That’s why it’s our tweet of the week.
Runners Up
That was a solid one. Is that even a real logo? It’s not like I own a machine that has every answer to every question I could think of or anything…..
You have to give props to Peter B for such an informative tweet.
And as depressing as that last one was informative:
That is an undeniable truth. As much as we hate to admit it. The Leafs are in competition for the President’s Trophy, but they remain the continue to be a middle-of-the-pack possession team, and they allow way, way, way too many shots against.

It’s impressive how they’ve managed to win so many games, but really, what’s been impressive is Frederik Andersen. He has three shutouts, he’s stolen like seven to ten games, and is probably the Leafs MVP so far.
