The Toronto Maple Leafs made it official Tuesday with two new signings.

I hinted a few weeks ago that the Toronto Maple Leafs were to sign free agent Calle Rosén, but I missed the second guy.

I wasn’t the first to catch wind of this, though.

Tim Chaisson broke Rosén down for us months ago.

The guys that mentioned the potential signing news about him are David Alter and Scott Powers of The Athletic.

Credit where credit is due, right?

The Leafs PR Twitter account broke the news moments ago.

Let’s revisit Rosén and introduce Andreas Borgman.

Calle Rosén

More from Editor In Leaf

He’s of average size, standing 6′ tall and weighing about 175 lb, not overly big, but that might not be bad.

Now, he shoots left, not right, but that hasn’t slowed down any interest in him.

In 2016-17 playing for the Växjö Lakers HC in the Swedish Hockey League, he registered six goals and 19 points in 41 games played.

Like I said, he’s of average size.

Look for him to be a two-way defenseman.

This signing could push Marincin or Hunwick out of the lineup, which wouldn’t be a terrible thing, would it?

I guess we’ll find out, but don’t forget about this next guy, not to mention the other rumors floating around.

Andreas Borgman

Things have been heating up about this kid all day.

First on the scenes that I saw was from Pension Plan Puppets.

However, it all started when Borgman’s team wrote about his contract being broken, indicating that he was to be signed by an NHL club.

You’ll have to break out Google translate for this one.

Well, the question as to where he’ll sign is over.

Welcome to the Leafs, Andreas.

He spent last season with the HV71 hockey team of the SHL and was their prized defender.

Borgman shoots left and stands at 6′, weighing about 205 lb, meaning he’s of decent stature.

He was also named the league’s rookie of the year this past season in the SHL as reported by TSN.

All in all, he’s a good addition.

Too bad he’s not a righty.

The Contracts

Two-year, entry-level contracts.

Pretty standard.

Remember that Mike Babcock hinted about signings to come on Dreger Café last week.

Is this it or are there more to come?

Time will tell, it always does.
