3. v. Florida Panthers

Most of the work and awe in this play belongs to Marner. He’s just such a dynamic and exciting player to watch with the puck. It’s amazing to me that he’s a Leaf. I love it.

But, there’s more to this play than just Marner dazzling with the puck. He comes streaking down the left side and the puck is passed behind him. He turns and fires it off to the right side of the net.

I can’t prove it but, I’m pretty sure he just instinctively knows where his linemates are on the ice at all times. He’s just that good.

The puck comes to the side of the net where Bozak just taps it in past Luongo. Everyone’s eyes are fixated on Marner, including Bozak’s. The reason why this goal is on the list is because Bozak still made it nice.

He kept up with the play long enough to get the pass and score. Not a lot of players have that much faith in a linemate like he does with Marner to trust that he’ll get the puck where it needs to be.

Again, not a whole lot to this goal. But, it’s just enough to be one of his best of the year. Although, maybe it’s the just play in its entirety that makes it so special.
