4. v. Nashville Predators

I remember watching this goal live and just being in awe. There’s so much more to this than the puck hitting twine. He starts the play out by being in the right position and also by protecting the puck with his body. He moves it towards his teammate, keeping the play alive. The puck comes back to him and he collects it. Again, he turns his body to protect it from the opposition.

This kind of play is often overlooked. Just by turning the angle of his skates to show his back, Marner is guarding and maintaining puck possession. He skates out along the boards with his head up and fires it home from a sharp angle. Pretty sweet goal involving a lot of creativity to turn nothing into something. A bit of good luck but the hard work paid off in the end.
