Boston Bruins

If the Bruins are fans of dirty water, then whatever they’re drinking must be absolutely filthy. This week we saw the Black and Gold open up a shooting gallery on the Philadelphia Flyers, New York Islanders and Florida Panthers. The Bruins scored 18 goals in those three games. Players that had some trouble producing came out like gangbusters. First, Jarome Iginla had a four-point game against Philly, and then Brad Marchand had a four-pointer against the Islanders. Milan Lucic and Zdeno Chara scored twice last night, and Lucic was a plus-five. Even Shawn Thornton scored a goal!

The Bruins are finally playing not just to their identity, but also as a complete 60-minute team. Granted, the three teams they assaulted aren’t at the moment in contention for the playoffs. The Bruins did what they were supposed to and proved they were the better team in all three engagements.

The Bruins will need that fire and motivation as their archrivals, the Montreal Canadiens, come limping into Boston on Thursday.
