Kevin McGran of the Toronto Star has a profile of new Toronto Maple Leafs assistant general manager Brandon Pridham. Pridham brings a wealth of knowledge of the inner workings of the league’s collective bargaining agreement and salary cap to the Leafs. The GTA native was the man other GMs called to figure out what was acceptable under the cap as the league’s president of the central registry.

Daniel Winnik made the long trek from Southern California to Toronto over the weekend and made it in time for an informal skate with a few fellow Leafs and Marlies yesterday. Lance Hornby has more on the 29-year-old left winger/centre who’s ready to contribute a hard-nosed game to the Leafs’ bottom six.

Peter Holland is once again facing a rather uncertain future on the Leafs. The 23-year-old centre signed a two-year deal in the offseason and will need to clear waivers to be sent down to the Marlies, but he’ll have plenty of competition to make the team out of training camp. Kevin McGran of the Toronto Star has more on his upcoming battle.

Connor Brown had a terrific offensive season with 128 points for the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League. Counterpoint: He’s already 20 years old and played on a line with phenom Connor McDavid. This season will be a big test for him to prove he can score with the big boys as he graduates to the American Hockey League. Clrkaitken of Pension Plan Puppets has more on their 14th-ranked Toronto Maple Leafs prospect.
