NHL Trade Rumors: Toronto Maple Leafs Have Four Untouchables

The Toronto Maple Leafs just seem to be in the center of it all nowadays. However, even with all the rumors that have been floating around, nothing has happened.

However, according to Nick Kypreos, it’s not for a lack of trying.

With the new culture that Brendan Shanahan wants to bring to the Leafs, it’s no surprise that the Leafs would be aggressive in the trade market. What’s surprising though is who is listed as untouchables.

Phil Kessel, Jonathan Bernier and Morgan Rielly are no surprise. What’s shocking is that Tyler Bozak is on the list. You’d have to think that he could be moved for the right price.

The other thing you have to look at is who is not on the list. Players like Dion Phaneuf, Joffrey Lupul, Nazem Kadri and James van Riemsdyk aren’t listed.

The fact that Kypreos says that the Leafs are “actively shopping” all but Kessel, Bernier, Rielly and Bozak is intriguing. Does this mean that the Leafs are trying to trade everyone but those four players? More than likely not. However, if any part of this true, that means that we might be hearing a whole lot of names in the rumor mill in the coming months.
