The Toronto Maple Leafs are in desperate need of a victory as they host the number-two team in the NHL, the St. Louis Blues, at the ACC tonight. The Leafs have lost five straight games and now sit in the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference with only a one-point cushion on the Washington Capitals. Every team in the East except for the New York Rangers has also played fewer games than the Leafs.

The Blues, on the other hand, have already clinched a playoff spot with 103 points and are six points ahead of the second-place team in the Central division, the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blues have won nine of their last 12 games but are still only two points ahead of the San Jose Sharks for first place in the West, and home-ice advantage through the first three rounds of the playoffs. They still have plenty to play for with the season quickly coming to a close.
