The Ottawa Senators had a four-day break in their schedule following a 4-3 overtime loss to the Predators on Monday night. In that time they lost ground to the eighth playoff spot, but it isn’t as bad as it could have been following such a long layoff at this point in the schedule. They trail the New York Rangers by seven points for the final playoff spot, with 15 games to play and four teams to pass.
They may have to go for a while without goaltender Craig Anderson, who hasn’t practiced since leaving Monday’s game with an injury following a collision with Milan Michalek and taking a slapshot from Shea Weber off the collarbone area.
