The Leafs begin a tortuous, three-games-in-four-nights stretch through California as they visit the Anaheim Ducks tonight. The Ducks have the second-most points in the league with 93, only one less than the St. Louis Blues.

The optimists in the crowd will remind you the Leafs beat the Ducks 4-2 way back on a random Tuesday in late October. The Leafs were able to pump four goals past Jonas Hiller on only 23 shots that night, three of those goals coming off the stick of one Phil Kessel.

So at least we know the Leafs have beaten the Ducks before. The problem, of course, is that was then and this is now. On the other hand, the Montreal Canadiens beat the Ducks 4-3 in a shootout last Wednesday, so if they can do it, why can’t the Leafs?
