Young Stars Game

I don’t even know if the NHL still does a Young Stars Game as part of their All-Star festivities. If they don’t, they should.

I picked the players for the YSG the same way I picked them for the ASG. The difference is every player is age 23 or younger.

What I came to realize while picking these players is there are a heckuva lot of really good young players in the League today. I could of easily filled two full teams, but I want the YSG to be smaller than the big game.

The Rules

1. The game will be played four-on-four.

2. Each team will have eight forwards, four defensemen and two goalies.

3. The game will have three periods, but each period will only be 10 minutes long.

4. Each team will switch to their backup goalie at the five-minute mark of the second period.
