  • The Lightning will have to wait just a little longer for the return of Steven Stamkos. If he wants to return to the Bolts’ lineup before the Olympic break, he could very well play against the Maple Leafs in their next matchup on February 6th.
  • The Ligtning’s rookie Tyler Johnson has been a recent hot streak, scoring four goals and four assists in five games.
  • The Leafs will be hard-pressed to beat Lightning goalie Ben Bishop as he has given up more than two goals only three times in his last 15 games.
  • Part of the Leafs efforts to help in that way is for Phil Kessel to continue his hot streak, having five goals in his last five games.
  • Kessel and James van Riemsdyk both left practice early yesterday with apparent injuries, but both will play in tonight’s game.
  • After two games where the Leafs’ goaltending has been less than stellar, they need Bernier, the likely starter, to be at his best tonight.
