Buffalo Sabres

Another day, another Sabres loss, this time to the Florida Panthers by a 4-3 score. The Sabres made it interesting with power play goals to come within one but could not complete the comeback. Drew Stafford had a great game finishing with two goals and an assist on Steve Ott‘s goal, but Ryan Miller struggled allowing four goals on just 22 shots.

Sabre Noise has an article saying there are rumours that the Sabres want a prospect and two first-round picks in exchange for Miller.

The Sabres’ next game comes against the offensively inept Carolina Hurricanes. Don’t expect a high scoring game with a lot of shots. Miller should be the starter although backup Jhonas Enroth has shown glimpses of improvement.

Die By The Blade has an article up about the future of the new acquisitions the Sabres made this season, including Linus Omark, Matt Moulson and Zenon Konopka. Personally, I would love if the Sabres kept Moulson as he is a good offensive player on a team that is struggling to score goals, but I understand if they opt not to re-sign him.

The Sabres continue their brief three-game home stand against the Hurricanes on Thursday night as they will try and snap a four-game losing streak. The game starts at 7 and can be seen on the Sabres local station MSG, but if you live in Toronto or anywhere else you can catch the game on GameCentre or NHL Centre Ice.
