Phoenix Coyotes vs. Toronto Maple Leafs (Game Number 51) Live Thread

The Toronto Maple Leafs are in Glendale to take on the Phoenix Coyotes in the first game of a tough four-game Western Conference road trip tonight. The Leafs will be looking to build on a big 5-3 win over the hated Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night.

The Coyotes are coming off their own Saturday night win after they beat the New Jersey Devils 3-2 at home. The win marked the first time the ‘Yotes have won two games in a row since mid-December. They’ll be motivated to continue their streak and catch the Vancouver Canucks, who are four points ahead of them and hold the second wild card in the West.

Looking at the ‘Yotes’ roster, I couldn’t tell you much about Rob Klinkhammer, Dave Moss, Lauri Korpikoski, or most anyone on the team. But, despite their largely anonymous roster, the ‘Yotes are still holding their own in a tough division and conference.

I doubt the Leafs make any changes from the lineup that beat the Habs. For everything you need to know regarding the game, pay a visit to Jeff’s preview. Keep in mind the game begins at 8 p.m. ET and will air on LeafsTV.

Looks like a pretty good sized crowd in Glendale. In the expensive seats anyway.

That all started with Gardiner carrying the puck in and getting it deep. Good job by Kessel to get to the puck and throw it out front as he was being hit. Smart play by Gardiner going to the front of the net.

    Kessel! 24th of the year

Can’t complain with that period. Leafs up 2-0 thanks to goals by Gardiner and Kessel. Two points for Kessel already.
