Three Stars of the Week:

First Star: Tyler Bozak

Bozak scored three goals in three games, recorded one assist, and netted a shootout goal. He also led Leafs forwards in ice time over the course of their three games, centering the top line and playing on both special teams in every game. He has 16 points in his last 13 games.

Second Star: Jonathan Bernier

Knuckles started two of the Leafs’ three games this week, going up against New Jersey and Boston, collecting wins in both games. His GAA throughout the week of 2.5 is nothing to write home about, though he would stop 74 of 79 shots for a save percentage of .936. Not too shabby.

Third Star: James van Riemsdyk

JVR scored twice and recorded one assist in his three games this week, he’d also find the net twice by way of the shootout, continuing his dominance in overtime’s overtime. He’d play 4:28 on the penalty kill as well over the course of the three games, and against Boston it looked like the oft-contact avoiding winger was actually trying to use his body, though he’d end up not being credited for a hit it was nice to see that for once the two hundred pound power forward is trying to widen his parameters to include some more blue-collar play.

Honorable mention:  Phil Kessel, who has nine points in his last five games.
