-James Reimer will make his third consecutive start, the first time all season he was started as many games in a row.

-The Red Wings are without a win a the Air Canada Centre in over a decade, their last coming on November 16, 2002. The Leafs are victors of three of the last four meetings the teams have had.

-Today’s game is a preview of sorts for the Winter Classic in eleven days, as well as the season series opener for the Leafs and Wings. There are four games between the teams this season.

-Detroit’s injury woes make this game something of a gimme for the Leafs, The Wings are missing their starting goalie in Jimmy Howard, as well as Henrik Zetterberg, Johan Franzen, Darren Helm, Justin Abdelkader, Stephen Weiss, and Gustav Nyquist.

-The Leafs have one regulation win since November 19.
