It’s game day, baby! Saturday night. Ooooo weeeeeee. An Original Six matchup. It doesn’t get any. Better. Than this. Baby.

Now that I’ve gotten my terrible Bob Cole impression out of the way, the Leafs are in Chicago tonight to take on the Blackhawks. It should be a great test for the Leafs, as the Blackhawks are really good and won the Stanley Cup last year, you may recall. The Leafs aren’t exactly trending in the right direction after losing a stinker against Carolina on Thursday, which came after they somehow beat the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday despite being horribly out-shot. James van Riemsdyk practiced yesterday, so hopefully he’ll play. I would expect Jonathan Bernier to play because Randy Carlyle can’t be that clueless about concussions, can he? I guess anything is possible. With that in mind, here are some links:

Lapierre Suspended Five Games

Five games seems about right for a guy without much of a suspension track record, but I really think the NHL needs to throw the book at these guys. Like, literally a book. The Oxford Dictionary if possible. From Colin Gambaro of Bleedin’ Blue.
