For the third time in five years, the Toronto Maple Leafs will open their pre-season schedule in London, Ontario. The Leafs will host the Philadelphia Flyers (the same team they played in London in 2009 and 2010) at the Budweiser Gardens on Sunday, September 15, and will play seven more exhibition games in the next 13 days in preparation for the 2013-14 regular season.
The Leafs will play two games each against the Flyers, Ottawa Senators, Buffalo Sabres, and their new division rivals, the Detroit Red Wings. They’ll face the Senators, Sabres, and Red Wings once at home and once on the road, while the two Flyers games will be in London and Toronto. The full schedule can be found on the Maple Leafs’ website.
The 2012-13 pre-season was cancelled due to the lockout. The Leafs were supposed to play a pre-season game against the Columbus Blue Jackets in Belleville, Ontario as part of the Kraft Hockeyville celebrations, but that game was re-scheduled to September 14, and will feature the Winnipeg Jets and Washington Capitals. Tickets for this year’s pre-season games will be released at a later date.
