Say it ain’t so.
According to Bob McKenzie of TSN, the Toronto Maple Leafs are close to re-signing rugged forward Colton Orr to a two-year contract. The deal is reportedly worth a little less than $1M a season. Orr became an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year.
Orr spent much of last season in the American Hockey League, but after getting himself into better shape last summer he regained a regular spot in the lineup this year under Randy Carlyle.
Orr had a goal and three assists in 2013, to go along with 155 penalty minutes in 44 regular season games. He has also spent time with the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers accumulating 14 career points with over 1,000 PIM.
