Vote For NHL 14 Cover

EA Sports has a pretty sweet voting format to name the cover player of NHL 14. They have just unveiled two players from every team that fans can vote on and the winners will go into the main bracket to see who will land on the cover. The voting is unlimited and by participating it will give you an opportunity to win a trip to this year’s Stanley Cup Final.

For example, from the Toronto Maple Leafs the two options are Joffrey Lupul and James van Riemsdyk. JVR has had a strong first season with the Leafs, but based on Lupul’s energy and him being a fan favourite, he should be able to pull out a victory.

Lupul and van Riemsdyk aren’t outlandish choices to represent Toronto, but some other squads have some interesting nominees to say the least. You can check things out for yourself and view the entire bracket here. Somehow Carl Hagelin is a nominee for the Rangers over Henrik Lundqvist. Or could you imagine if Brandon Yip of Nashville or Lee Stempniak of Calgary made an improbable run all the way to end and landed on the cover? The only copies sold would probably be to Yip and Stempniak family members.

Since voting is unlimited, I’m about to throw Matt Beleskey of Anaheim about 1,000 votes. Who doesn’t love a good underdog?
