Joffrey Lupul is expected to check back into the lineup tonight for the Toronto Maple Leafs when they visit the Washington Capitals. Lupul has been out of action for the past five games after suffering a concussion against the Philadelphia Flyers on April 4th.
His return comes at a great time for the Maple Leafs as the team has an opportunity to clinch a playoff spot tonight. A victory over the Capitals and a regulation loss by the Winnipeg Jets at the hands of the Tampa Bay Lightning, and Toronto will make its first post-season appearance in nearly a decade.
Other lineup notes for tonight’s game sees Ben Scrivens get the start in goal to give James Reimer a well deserved night off. Clarke MacArthur and Matt Frattin, who have struggled to find the back off the net recently, will be scratches.
