The Toronto Maple Leafs finally confirmed that forward Joffrey Lupul does indeed have a concussion. Lupul took a sandwich style hit from Jay Rosehill and Adam Hall of the Philadelphia Flyers on April 4thand hasn’t played since.

The Leafs were hesitant to use the concussion word as Lupul exhibited no symptoms of one initially, but Randy Carlyle said they started to appear after a day or two. Lupul apparently lost some of his peripheral vision, which has now returned.

The good news is that Lupul skated again on Friday and is getting closer to a return. However, he has still not been cleared for contact and it doesn’t appear that he will be back in game action anytime soon. Making sure Lupul is 100% healthy before the playoffs looks to be Toronto’s primary concern.
