Joffrey Lupul was named the NHL’s First Star for last week. The Toronto Maple Leaf forward had nine points in four games and scored three times on the power play, while also adding three game-winning goals.
Lupul got the week started with one goal against the Boston Bruins, but followed that up by scoring twice against the Florida Panthers. He then had a spectacular goal and an assist against the Carolina Hurricanes and posted a four-point night against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.
Lupul has scored in each of the six games he has played since returning from a broken forearm and has collected 13 points during that span.
San Jose Sharks goalie Antti Niemi was named the Second Star with four wins and a pair of shutouts, while Taylor Hall of the Edmonton Oilers received the Third Star thanks to his five goals and eight points last week.
