Josh Leivo has inked a three-year Entry-Level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Leivo was taken 86thoverall in the third round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft and has been playing in the Ontario Hockey League since then.
In 2011-12 Leivo had 32 goals and 73 points in 66 games with the Sudbury Wolves. He also added 61 penalty minutes.
This year he started off quickly for Sudbury and posted 19 goals and 44 points in just 34 games. However, the Wolves decided to trade Leivo to the Kitchener Rangers in early January, but he continued to produce at a solid pace. The 19-year-old has tallied seven goals and 15 assists in 22 games since joining Kitchener. His overall totals for the 2012-13 season of 40 assists, 66 points, and a plus-22 rating are tops on the Rangers.
