A Toronto area Santa was just relieved of his duties after cracking a few jokes that were not well received. Apparently Jolly Old Saint Nicholas made a remark about a three-year-old kid’s jacket and the fact that he was wearing a Toronto Maple Leafs tuque.

The boy’s mother said she was shocked after the Santa arrived half an hour late to the appearance and began insulting her child at Lowe’s Toronto Christmas Market. She went on to say that her son cried all the way home and his experience was ruined. After posting a complaint on the organizer’s Facebook page, the family received an apology.
At least this youngster is only three and hasn’t suffered through too many disappointments yet as a Leaf fan. Although surely traumatizing, compared to your average Toronto supporter, he is probably still in pretty good shape. Hopefully his Christmas can be salvaged.
Have things gotten so bad for the Maple Leafs that even Santa is taking shots at them? It would seem that way. Keep in mind though, some of those store Santa’s are under a lot of pressure. I hear sometimes they don’t even get a break.
